St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Somers, NY
Ground was broken in June, 2011 for the construction of this new 1000 seat edifice. The church wisely took advantage of the availability of a fine 3/35 Austin organ built and installed in 1971 at the Third Church of Christ Scientist, Washington DC. Third Church has since decided to build a new edifice in Washington and will purchase a new organ.
The architects for the new St. Joseph church, DCAK-MSA of Nyack, have created ideal placement for the Austin. The organ will be releathered and its original specification completed with the inclusion of five new stops. The organ will be installed in the Fall of 2012 and the church will open that December. |
